Haven’t been around in a while but that’s not to say I haven’t been working!
I’ve been out walking 3 nights a week (45 min power walks) for the last 3 weeks, so I think I’ve got exercise under control for the time being. I’m not saying that’s enough but I think/hope I’ve built the walks into my weekly routine for now and as the weather improves, I can get out more often for longer periods – then think about the gym!
I plucked up the courage to join Unislim last week. It is a low GI diet based on a points system. I prepared my food and followed the plan this week. When I went to get weighed for the first time, I was rewarded with a 4lb loss!
I also feel ready to clear out my wardrobe and start to get ready for spring. So this is where I am. This is what I am doing.
And I still haven’t stopped wanting my tattoo as a reward for the first 14 lbs off!
Blue Monday is a name given to a date calculated to be the most depressing day of the year. The date was calculated by using many factors, plugged into a formula. The factors include: weather conditions, debt level (the difference between debt accumulated and our ability to pay), time since Christmas, time since failing our new year’s resolutions, low motivational levels and feeling of a need to take action.
I have to agree with this mumbo-jumbo.
Since the start of 2008 I’ve been floored with a really nasty flu-type tummy bug, broke a back tooth and put my back out. Ivan fell & banged his head and ended up in two casualty departments this weekend for x-rays and eye tests.
Anything else coming our way?
Our car is in the garage today and we are expecting a nearly £500 bill, the tax is also up at the end of them month. On top of this we had to order heating oil this month and the house insurance is up at the end of the month too.

My objectives for the week are :-
walk x 2 this week, get active
healthy eating – cut out the crap
increase water intake
cut down portion sizes
dig out Pilate’s DVD
OK, still feeling rough today but I have been drinking a lot of water and know I can continue with that. I’d like to get out for a walk tomorrow evening, even if it’s not that far – just to make the effort to pull on my trainers and get out there, over come the inital embarrassment. I think the flu bug has shrunk my appetite, which isn’t a bad thing! The fact that I still can’t actual taste or smell stuff should help too. The only thing I’m worried about this week is the DVD, lol. I will try to get it out and join in at least once this week x
Well, yes, it did start on Monday but due to heavy storms, busy in work, my sister collapsing and being admitted to hospital and then me being knocked flat with a flu bug – I haven’t really been online much this week.

So I didn’t accomplish much of these during Week 1 but will continue with them for Week 2. I did weight myself on Monday and will do so again in the morning. Keen to see if this flu bug helped me lose any weight?
Why do we have to eat all the leftover crap in the house before starting the New Year Diet?
Mine is starting Monday. So, of course, I am piggin’ out something rotten this weekend. I’d be better off grabbing a plastic bag and throwing everything into it then throwing it in the bin!
But of course, I can’t. I have to eat it all. Ugh!
As if that wasn’t bad enough, I’ve planned a lovely dinner for tomorrow too. Prawn cocktail for starters, turkey & stuffing for mains, haven’t yet decided on afters!
Come Monday I’m a changed woman. Promise. I will cut out the crap, make time to exercise, look after myself, no more secret eating, no more binging. Just honest to goodness hard work!

New year, new beginnings and all that goes with it. Come Monday we start our long journey down the diet road again, only difference this time - is we have to succeed!

I want to possibly try for another baby
I want to be able to buy clothes without wanting to burst out crying in the changing rooms
I want to enjoy life and feel fit / healthy
I want to create sparks in the bedroom, be proud of my body and enjoy showing it off
